CARLOS BAUTISTA
Meet Carlos Bautista, an artist whose life’s work is as rooted as the mountain town of San José del Pacífico, Oaxaca where he resides. Born in Mexico City in 1985 and a proud alumnus of Visual Arts from Cuernavaca, Carlos has woven his academic rigor with a profound spiritual practice in his art. Since his graduation in 2009, Carlos has graced both national and international stages with over 20 solo shows and numerous group exhibitions, evolving his craft to span from traditional drawing to public space interventions and tattooing.
Carlos’s art is a call to the wild—invoking the elemental connection between the human spirit and the natural world. His pieces serve as portals, offering viewers a pathway to introspection and communion with the primal energies of earth and sky. Each work is a delicate balance of the tangible and the transcendent, marrying the organic with the metaphysical in a dance of colors and forms.
Now, drawing from the ethereal landscapes of Sierra Sur, Carlos infuses his creations with the essence of his surroundings. His artistic process is a narrative crafted daily, shaped by the winds and whispers of Oaxaca’s forests—a narrative that’s honest, deeply connected, and vibrantly alive. At El Ganzo, Carlos Bautista extends an invitation: to explore the depths of nature and self through the eyes of an artist profoundly in tune with his environment.
