KARIAN AMAYA
Meet Karian Amaya, a visionary in visual arts with roots extending from Mexico to New York. Karian's eclectic mix of media and profound narratives have captivated audiences across Mexico, the U.S., and Europe, making her a celebrated figure on the international art scene.
In 2015, Karian enriched her artistic perspective through a mentoring program for immigrant artists at the New York Arts Foundation, further solidifying her role as a cultural bridge. Her poignant contributions continued in 2016 at the Biennial of the Border at the El Paso Museum of Art, where borders blurred through her expressive pieces.
Karian’s artistry has been recognized with numerous accolades, including the Stimuli of Artistic Creation by PECDA (2013-2014), the prestigious Alfaro Siqueiros Scholarship (2017), and the Grodman Legacy Grant by the UDG Foundation (2018). Her journey of accolades didn’t pause there—she garnered support through Proyecta Traslados (2019), FONCA's 'Contigo a la distancia' (2020), and the Horizontes Jalisco Program (2020). The State Council for Culture and the Arts CECA acknowledged her in the sculpture category (2021-2022), along with residencies at CASA WABI (2022) and recognition from PECDA Chihuahua (2022) for her sculptural innovation. Most recently, Karian was honored with the Grodman UDG USA Repatriation Scholarship (2023), further underscoring her significant impact and ongoing contribution to the arts.
